MYSTERY TRADE: Paul (Card Boarded)

Awhile back Paul and I exchanged words that we would be sending each other cards, it worked out as kind of a mystery trade. I got some really great stuff for my goalie project and some awesome inserts overall, take a look:

First we have a Cloutier throwback "RC" from the ITG BAP set of 2002. Neat seeing the old Koho pads, anyone know what happened to Koho? Did they go bankrupt, bought out?

From Pacific Omega we have the "Gold" version numbered to /299.

A Titanium base card of Luongo, again we see the Koho pads.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, that was the best combo of pads to mask Luongo has worn in Vancouver. God only knows why he chooses to wear what he wears nowadays.

I'm appreciative of a good throwback card, and this is a good throwback card.

This is a pretty crazy insert card! I had no clue what the Percentage meant on the right side of the card until further research. This looked like this was an awesome insert set back when it was released!

Another insert this time from this years UD Series 1.

This was a really cool card to research in Beckett. Very lightly written across the card are the words "HOBBY LTD". Turns out this is a $12 card BV'd. Awesome parallel! Oh and it's numbered to just...

A more colourful insert is this one of Felix Potvin.

Last but certainly not least is this awesome insert from Pinnacle of Mr. Schneids (excuse the dust). Really shows the true colours of Schneiders tribute mask!

That's it! Thanks again Paul for the awesome cards! Also, I look forward to making a "real" trade in the near future (first I need to collect some Howards)!

  1. Koho was purchased by CCM, then CCM was purchased by Reebok, who just wanted Koho's list of endorsees. All of them were switched to the Rbk line until Reebok decided to use its full name again.

The last goalie to wear Koho pads was Jonas Hiller, who was using 3-year old pads, but since Reebok hadn't paid the NHL licensing fees, he had to play with the logo taken out of his pads.

  2. Glad to see everything showed up ok and that I could help a little with you're goalie project.

  3. Sebastian beat me to the punch, was going to say that Hiller was sporting KOHO gear recently...
