PACK BY PACK - 2010-11 SCORE (Packs 1 and 2)

Today is NHCD (as you have heard from every hockey card blogger out there already). So me and my pops went down to the ol' card shop and picked up our free packs, and we spent more than 10 bucks so we got the extra Toews card (I feel so special). If you want the entire card by card rundown well go take a gander here. As for me I got Hall, Eberle, Subban, Spezza, Luongo, Crosby (x2), Roy, Gretzky (x2), CL (x2), and Toews. I'll get the rest some other day.

But the real reason for this blog is to do a pack a day sort of thing. I'm taking a page out of shoebox legend's book and I'm gonna showcase all the cards from each pack plus my favorite card.

For 35 bucks I picked up my favorite (cheap) set of th year...2010-11 Score! This is my third box of this set this year. You know all about it, 7 cards a pack, 36 packs, and away we go.

First off, here is where I stand when it comes to the set.

BASE CARDS (1-500) - 417 including glossy parallel (19 Canucks)
HOT ROOKIES (501-560) - 44 including glossy parallel (1 Canuck)
FRANCHISE - 2
PLAY-OFF HEROES - 12
SUDDEN DEATH - 2
NET CAM - 6
SNOGLOBE - 2 (1 Canuck)

TOTAL - 485 (21 Canucks)

My goals with buying this box was to complete the base set. Get the Luongo Net Cams card. Possibly pull the Hall Hot Rookies, and maybe get an autographed card. This was a little bit of a bittersweet buy for me as I passed on what is probably a $800+ card...yes an $800+ card! I picked a box of Score over a pack of SP Game Used. The guy beside me decided to buy a pack, he opened it right then and there. He pulled a triple Jersey AUTO, Gordie Howe, Mario Lemieux, and Wayne FREAKIN Gretzky! Wow, bad call by me huh?

Anyways I gotta lick my wounds and hope I pull something good in this box to make it not hurt so bad. Let's get to pack one...

PACK 1

Couple of Highlight cards (which I already have)...

Cool! A Sid the Kid card on the first pack, not too bad!

A horizontal Kaleta card and a Play-off Heroes Danny Briere. Nice beard Danny!

My Glossy parallel is Justin Abdelkader.

FAVORITE CARD: SIDNEY CROSBY (BASE)

PACK 2

This pack landed me 6 base cards, and in case you were wondering the Carey Price card is the glossy parallel.

The Kadrian one is my first Hot Rookies hit of the box.

FAVORITE CARD: NAZEM KADRI (HOT ROOKIES)

  1. The would and could game is a dangerous one. Ignorance is definitely bliss when it comes to that one, usually we are lucky enough to NOT know what we missed out on. I bought a pack of Certified and pulled only base cards.....which basically means any other pack in that box will be better than the one I grabbed (no match for your story though).

  2. Ya, it burns, but I still have to ignore it. Just would have been cool to grab. Hopefully this box will get me a signed card though!
