TRADE #4 - Another One Checked Off the Wantlist

Over the past few weeks Dave from Wax Stained Rookie and I have been working out a trade. I received his part of the trade a few days ago but the scanning took me awhile. Better late then never!

The original trade was:

TO DAVE:
2011-12 Artifacts Dual Jersey Rask/Thomas
2010-11 Between the Pipes Golden Martin Brodeur (Jersey-Black) /60

TO ME:
2006-07 BAP Luc Bourdon RC Signatures /10
2006-07 SP Game Used Ed Jovanovski (Jersey)

We both agreed we would throw in some extra goodies for one another, and Dave really went over what I expected! Thanks Dave! Let's take a look at some of the cards!

First off he threw in a 30 card insert set called "Crash the Game" (Silver). It features some great names like Gretzky and Yzerman, but my favourite was the only Canuck in the bunch - Pavel Bure!

The next couple cards are old school cards from the 90's that I already have but are still very appreciated!

Hey my very first Harold Snepsts card!

From the same 1989-90 OPC set are these two goalie cards that fit in well with my Goalie Project.

How'd did he know I love 1982-83 OPC? Love this set on both sides.

These are my favourite three cards from this bunch of 82-83 OPC. OH! My second ever Harold Snepsts card!

Here we have a couple more cards going into my Goalie Project. A Richard Brodeur (this PC set of Brodeur is getting more and more tempting) and one of Gary Bromley.

Yup this may not be a Bromley card per say, but this does indeed showcase Gary and his spooky mask! This one will fit just fine in my Goalie Project binder.

Thanks Dave for paying attention to my RC dilemma! Awhile back I showcased a Niedermayer "RC" that wasn't officially recognized as a rookie. But this card solves that problem because now I can truly say I own a Niedermayer RC!

This is a neat change up from the good old hockey card. This was produced by Kraft in the 90's and is about 1.25cm wider than a hockey card.

Moving on to some modern stuff is this batch of MVP base cards from various years. Also on the top left is a base card of Danny Sedin from 09-10 Artifacts (I think it's that year).

A Double Diamond base of Naslund and a Single Diamond of Ohlund. They both fit their way into my Nucks binder nicely.

Some more Sedin base, the scorer on the left and the passer on the right.

Above is a Naslund Champs mini base and a parallel from OPC back a few years ago. I remember Krajicek!

Those last 6 cards are all of the current number 1 goaltender of my Vancouver Canucks - Roberto Luongo. Some great new additions to my Goalie Project...speaking of that...

Another Brodeur base for my GP, this time of the Parkhurst variety.

Dave also threw in this AUTO for me! This is of Andrew Ebbett from the 2009-10 Champ's Mini Set. Really neat on card AUTO, but it must be awkward for a player to sign such a small card!

After all those card we finally get to the two cards that were actually set for trade. Just goes to show you the generosity of hockey bloggers and in particular Dave. This card is from the 2006-07 SP Game Used set and has a nice red/purple coloured swatch of jersey on it.

WOW! I get goose bumps looking at this card. This card has been on my want list for awhile and I'm soooo happy to get it, especially since it's numbered to only 10 copies! Dave pulled this card this last summer from a box and I contacted him about a potential trade. At the time though, I really had nothing interesting for him that I was willing to part with. So we put the trade on hold for a later date and sure enough we were able to make it happen.

I'm sure you're aware of the situation with Luc and unfortunately there aren't many cards of this young man out there because of this tragedy. I'm proud to own a piece of his history but also sad that this man's life was cut short.

Thank you so much Dave for all the extras, they were all well thought out and VERY much appreciated. This is the third trade we've completed and I hope to have many more as you're very easy to talk to and someone I've much enjoyed to read!

Again...THANK YOU!

  1. Awesome stuff.

I like the photo in the Robert Kron card. Can't go wrong with Snepsts. And the Bromley cameo is sweet (I remember that card from back in the day and still think it's cool). The Parkhurst Brodeur is fantastic (comes from one of my all-time favorite sets).

Sadly, no Linden. Definite point deductions there. :)

Seriously, great cards. Sounds like it was a fun trade.
